What is IDX?
An Internet Data Exchange (IDX) is a real estate property search site that allows the public to conduct searches of approved Multiple Listing Service (MLS) properties in a certain area. IDX is largely synonymous with the term “Broker Reciprocity.”
Why have IDX on my site?
Studies show that more than 75% of buyers use the Internet in searching for property. If this is true, consider asking what will it cost you not to have IDX on your site, when your closest competitor does?
What is IDXblue?
IDXblue is an inexpensive link you quickly and easily install on your web site that allows your visitors to search for real estate property without leaving your site.
Who can have IDXblue?
Generally, only members of the local MLS can have the data for that area, but the rules may vary. If you’re not sure, check with us by clicking the Contact Us button in the menu.
How do I add IDXblue to my site?
Use IDXblue Wrapping. With wrapping, you create a link on your site to our site using the web address we provide. That’s it. The rest is up to us. In “wrapping” your site, we take a page of your existing web site and wrap it around all IDXblue output (search pages, search results, contact forms, etc.) so that everything in IDXblue looks just like a page on your site, not someone else’s that you’ve framed. There are no added web browser scroll bars to make life difficult for your visitors.
How long does it take to put IDXblue on my site?
If your MLS is already supported, the sign up process takes less than 5 minutes, and then your link is live instantaneously. That means you can have IDXblue on your site as soon as you add the link to your site. Aesthetically, we can often have your site wrapped around IDXblue within an hour or less. To comply with most MLS rules, you usually have paperwork to sign for their records. Double check with your MLS.
What if I’m a web site designer or working with one?
Usually, the entire installation process is even faster and easier when we work directly with a designer, and we have more options when working with them to customize the property search on your site.
What if I don’t have a website yet?
We can help you develop a site inexpensively. Check out the Web Design button under Services on the menu. Also, several of the sites on the Samples page were built by us, so you can refer to those.
Should I build my own website?
It’s possible, but our experience is that most Realtors are better at selling homes than designing sites.
How often does IDXblue update listings?
That depends on the MLS. Some we update every 15 minutes. We update most once per business day but never less.
What hidden fees are there with IDXblue?
None. If they’re hiding, they’re hiding from us, too.
